When a company is looking for a way to upgrade their facility that will lower both operating and maintenance costs, the answer is often right above their heads: their lighting.  Operations still using fluorescent or incandescent lighting can usually see significant long-term benefits by switching to industrial LED lighting instead.

Lighting system based in LED (Light Emitting Diodes) offers a wide variety of benefits over other lighting systems and almost no drawbacks aside from the initial upgrade costs. In the long term, a switch to LED lighting will almost inevitably bring a strong return on the investment.

Four Major Reasons to Embrace Industrial LED Lighting

  • Lower energy usage

LED bulbs are far more energy-efficient than other alternatives, saving 50-90% over fluorescent or incandescent bulbs.  Nor does this come at the expense of longevity!  LED lighting can easily provide 200,000 to 400,000 hours of use before the bulbs need to be changed.

  • Safer to use

LED lights do not have heat buildup, like incandescent bulbs, or require the dangerously high levels of power required to keep fluorescent bulbs going.  When LED lights do need to be swapped out, the procedure is much safer than other alternatives.

  • Better light

LED bulbs produce a clean, flicker-free, full-spectrum light which is easier to work under, in nearly all circumstances.  You are likely to see fewer complaints from workers about lighting quality, or side-effects such as headaches from faulty flickering bulbs.  In most usage scenarios, color visibility is improved under LED lights as well.

In addition, LED bulbs are entirely silent. There is no humming or other electrical sounds, as other lighting systems tend to produce.

  • Eco-friendly

If your operation is looking to reduce its carbon footprint or qualify for more \”green\” tax benefits, a switch to LED lights is an excellent choice.  Besides their existing energy efficiency, LED lights are also much less harmful to produce.  They are also free of both lead and mercury, making them fully RoHS-compliant.
